Welcome to Postcard Knits

Hi there!

Welcome to the Postcards Knits newsletter. I’ll be sharing monthly updates featuring all the latest news, projects, and designs of Postcards Knits. This is a new format, so please bear with me as I iron out any technical difficulties that may arise :)

Similar to a knitting podcast, each issue will begin with a brief recap of recent projects, followed by what I’m currently working on, and conclude with a preview of what’s coming next. Let's jump in!

Lately

February has been a busy month already - we wrapped up the Cabin Window Sweater test knit, started the Sidewalk Sweater knit-along, and raised money through pattern sales to support the National Immigrant Justice Center.

Currently

Today is an EXTRA exciting day because the Neighbors Sweater test call opened this morning! The Neighbors Sweater is already one of my favorite designs; it's inspired by the colorful row houses of San Francisco. I'm especially looking forward to seeing all of the fun color combinations that test knitters come up with! Check out design details and test knit logistics at the application page here; I'd love to welcome you to the Postcard (test)Knits community.

Shortly

Later this week (Friday, February 27) I'm releasing the Fisherman's Wharf Sweater pattern. This design was inspired by Guernsey sweaters, with half-fisherman's rib (ha, get it), rope-like motifs, and a cute wave design. It's an engaging yet classic knit full of fun textures, I can't wait to share it in just a few days.

And I'm excited to announce I'll be working with Kelbourne Woolens on a Fisherman's Wharf knit-along! Their Germantown yarn is perfect for this texture, and you can use code FISHY15 for a special discount. Follow along on my socials to get updates on when and how to join the knit-along; it's going to be a great time.

Eventually

I've got a few things on my needles this month. My next design, the Wiggle Cardigan, is going well! It's inspired by The Wiggle, a cycling roadway in San Francisco, and it'll be my first true summer design. I'm also brainstorming a few more summer pieces: the Dolores Sweater (inspired the crowded hills of Dolores Park), the Speakeasy top (a flirty backless tank), and maybe even a summer vest version of the Cabin Window Sweater. More on that to come :)

Happy February!
