Summer knits and a very special test call
We have so much to catch up on!
It's been a wonderful (and busy!) summer for Postcard Knits. I accidentally scheduled 3 patterns in one month and while it's been hectic, I love getting to share so many designs.
To make these beginner-friendly patterns more accessible, I've made all three available for free! (discount codes are available on each pattern's respective Ravelry page)
I released the Marine Layer Sweater to celebrate my birthday. It's inspired by the moody fog of San Francisco, and it's a perfect beginner knit. This quickly became one of my most successful patterns yet, and it's been so exciting watching all of the beautiful projects in the knit-along! (it's not too late to join, check it out)
Next was the adorable Bodega Blouse. This peplum top features a boat neck silhouette with ruffles, inspired by the iconic awnings of SF corner stores. I'm not usually a big summer knitter, but this piece really inspired me to try some new summer yarns. I knit three samples and I want to cast on a fourth!
And just a week later came the Curtain Call Top. I absolutely adore the red velvet curtains at vintage theaters, and I wanted to capture their drama and glamour in a unique garment.

I am so excited and honored to announce that one of my designs will be included in a Laine publication in 2027!
For this piece, I drew inspiration from Northern California’s sequoia forests. I wanted to capture the feeling of being surrounded by thousands of towering tree trunks, immersed in a layered landscape where towering old-growth trees and delicate new growth coexist in harmony. And finally, the Rooftop Sweater is currently being test knit. It's a lovely textured piece, a perfect way to start transitioning into fall/winter knitting, and will be released in late September.
